Last9 - High Cardinality Observability at Scale

     Info
    Sold by: Last9
    Deployed on AWS
OTel-native telemetry data platform for high cardinality monitoring. Single pane for Logs, Metrics, and Traces. Simple pricing.

    Overview

Last9 is the preferred single pane of observability for Logs, Traces, and Metrics, built for modern engineering teams and high cardinality environments.

    • OpenTelemetry native, Cloud Native, Prometheus compatible, with support for 100+ integrations
    • Simple pricing model with a predictable "pay for what you use" plan, no per host or per user billing

Application developers, infrastructure engineers, DevOps & SREs, and business users send their Logs, Traces, and Metrics to Last9's telemetry data platform to monitor their services and systems and run alerting with anomaly algorithms for changes in patterns and behavior.

Users are provided a Control Plane, as a first-class developer experience, to manage their telemetry data, its lifecycle, and its associated costs. Pre-Ingestion Workflows to filter, drop, and enrich data even before it's stored don't require instrumentation or code changes and also enable engineering teams to not sacrifice visibility for cost optimizations. With Last9 built for high cardinality in mind - a generous 20M active time series per metric per day is supported, and tools like Cardinality Explorer & Streaming Aggregations allow identifying and handling telemetry with large cardinality.

With correlated telemetry, Last9's native explorer for Logs, Traces, and Metrics empowers users to quickly debug issues and not change context by allowing them to jump between telemetry data, teams have the flexibility to use any tool that they're comfortable with - either the embedded Grafana dashboard that Last9 comes with, or use Last9 as a data source for their preferred visualization tool.

Organizations can choose between a SaaS or a BYOC/on-prem deployment model. Last9 is available on both AWS and GCP marketplaces.

Customers include Replit, Disney+ Hotstar, Clevertap, Circle, Probo, and Quickwork.

Backed by Sequoia India and Better Capital, along with a handful of prominent angels and advisors from Hashicorp, Sendbird, GoJek, Razaorpay, and more.

    Observability Reimagined: Last9 in Action

    Reviewed on May 29, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Last9 simplifies observability with a single pane for logs, traces, and metrics—removing the need for multiple tools and reducing costs. Features like Logs Explorer, Traces Explorer, and Dashboards enable faster issue detection and deeper insights. It handles high cardinality effortlessly, supports real-time telemetry shaping via the Control Plane, and offers responsive 1:1 Slack support. A powerful, cost-effective platform for modern engineering teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the single pane for logs, traces, and metrics is valuable, many observability platforms (like Datadog, New Relic, or Grafana Cloud) offer similar features. What makes Last9 uniquely better—beyond cost—isn't strongly emphasized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Last9 is solving the complexity and cost inefficiency of modern observability. By bringing logs, traces, and metrics into a single pane, it eliminates the need to manage and pay for multiple siloed tools. This not only reduces operational overhead but significantly cuts costs.

What do you like best about the product?
Trace visibility and correlated logs provide critical insights. They’ve enabled us to uncover bottlenecks and redundancies in our API flows that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. The team is clearly passionate and knowledgeable, and their Slack channel is consistently responsive to any inquiries.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was tough getting people onboarded to last9 as they could get overwhelmed with the whole lot of features.
A session or tutorial might help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unified observability: logs + traces + metrics in one pane so no more tool-hopping, lower costs
High-cardinality support: drill down by user, region, request ID letting us pinpoint bottlenecks at granular level

Efficient, customer-first observability built for dynamic scale

    Reviewed on May 22, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Last9 stood out in our rigorous PoC evaluations due to its reliability-first observability model, cost efficiency, and engineering-friendly interface. Their focus on SLOs, reliability scores, and proactive monitoring aligned closely with our operational priorities. What truly differentiates them, though, is how deeply invested their support and customer success teams are—during IPL season when our traffic scaled dramatically on a daily basis, Last9 tuned their infrastructure dynamically to meet our specific needs, something we’ve never experienced with other vendors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike at this stage. If anything, I’d say the product is still evolving and there are a few integrations and features we’d like to see built out more natively. That said, the team has consistently incorporated our feedback into their roadmap, so we’re confident these gaps will close quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our previously used Platform had to discontinue operations in our country. Due to strict data compliance requirements, we couldn’t push observability data outside borders. Last9 not only met our data residency needs but also offered a much more cost-effective solution with superior support. Their platform helped us reduce alert fatigue, gain better insight into service reliability, and adapt to the scale fluctuations we deal with in dynamic and high-traffic events like IPL, Cricket World Cup and their preparations.

Reliable, Feature-Rich, and Backed by an Outstanding Team

    Reviewed on May 17, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Last9 stands out for its exceptional team and support—they are responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about customer success. Working with them feels like an extension of your own team, which makes a massive difference when tackling observability and reliability challenges.

The platform offers an excellent balance of features and stability. From SLO management to incident workflows, it’s robust and reliable. The regular weekly releases are not only impressive but also thoughtfully aligned with customer feedback and evolving needs.

Another major plus is their competitive and transparent pricing. After evaluating numerous platforms in the space, Last9 clearly offers one of the most cost-effective solutions without compromising on functionality.

Most importantly, the support team is phenomenal—easily one of the best we’ve worked with. Whether it’s onboarding or ongoing improvements, they go above and beyond.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s very little to dislike. If anything, the rapid pace of feature releases might feel fast for teams that prefer slower adoption cycles. However, the team does a great job keeping customers informed and supported through these changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Last9 is helping us solve critical observability and reliability challenges by providing a platform that simplifies and strengthens how we define, track, and manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and overall system health. Before Last9, aligning engineering priorities with reliability goals was fragmented and reactive.

With Last9, we now have a clear, measurable, and proactive approach to reliability—helping teams prioritize the right work based on real impact, not just alerts. It has significantly reduced alert fatigue, improved incident response times, and created better alignment between technical teams and business goals.

The platform’s ability to ingest data without requiring invasive instrumentation, paired with their strong support and frequent releases, means we’re continuously improving without heavy operational overhead. In short, Last9 is enabling us to build and scale more resilient systems with confidence and clarity.

    Last9 Review

    Reviewed on May 16, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
We've seen tremendous value since adopting Last9. The platform truly lives up to the promise of a single place bringing logs, traces, and metrics together seamlessly. This not only simplifies our observability setup but also significantly reduces cost and complexity compared to using multiple tools.

One of the biggest reasons we decided to switch to Last9 was the significant COGS savings.

But what truly sets Last9 apart is the support. Prathamesh Sonpatki and his team have been exceptional always available over Slack to answer questions, resolve issues, and even proactively track platform improvements based on our feedback. The pace of evolution on the platform is impressive; we've seen major performance improvements and usability enhancements just this year alone.

All in all, Last9 has become an indispensable part of our infrastructure. Highly recommended for any team looking to modernize their observability stack.
What do you dislike about the product?
While our overall experience with Last9 has been excellent, a couple of things could still improve:

Learning Curve for New Users : This may have been specific to our setup, but we were very tightly coupled to our previous log system, so adjusting to Last9 took some time. That said, the Last9 team was extremely helpful in guiding us through the transition, just something to be aware of when making the switch.

Lack of Native Multi-Tab Support : One feature I miss from our previous platform is the ability to open multiple panels or tabs within the same UI (e.g., pods logs in one tab, LB logs in another, etc.). With Last9, I need to open separate browser tabs for that kind of workflow.

That said, none of these are blockers, and the team is highly responsive to feedback, often rolling out fixes or enhancements quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest problems Last9 is solving for us is reducing COGS, and that was a major factor in our decision to switch.

Beyond cost, Last9 has made observability more intuitive. The platform makes it easier to track issues across services, thanks to correlated views across logs and traces. This has helped us detect and debug problems much faster, especially in complex environments with high-cardinality data.

Overall, Last9 has simplified our tooling, improved our incident response, and made our engineering teams more productive.
