New AWS WickrGov offerings to enable secure, compliant communication on multiple devices

AWS WickrGov helps customers solve the “personal device dilemma” while maintaining security and compliance

Today, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is announcing two new AWS WickrGov offerings designed to help customers rapidly deploy secure communications capabilities across their organizations.

AWS WickrGov is a secure communications solution designed specifically with security in mind. Built on AWS GovCloud (US-West), it provides end-to-end encrypted messaging, voice and video calling, file sharing, and screen sharing capabilities. These new, tailored offerings for customers in AWS WickrGov provide a streamlined path for agencies to equip their personnel with end-to-end encrypted messaging, voice, and collaboration tools.

The updated AWS WickrGov no-cost trial now supports teams of up to 50 through December 31, 2025. This trial period allows any agency to pilot AWS WickrGov and validate the productivity and security benefits for their most critical personnel before scaling it across the enterprise. The no-cost trial is available to any organization with access to AWS GovCloud and deploying AWS WickrGov for the first time.

For enterprise-scale deployments, the AWS WickrGov Enterprise QuickStart is a new, cost-effective offering for up to 50,000 users with hands-on deployment assistance from AWS Professional Services. The Professional Services team works closely with users to enable a successful, rapid rollout of AWS WickrGov, providing expert guidance on user onboarding, configuration, and advanced integrations with generative AI bots, language translation, and other mission application integrations. The AWS WickrGov Enterprise Quickstart offering will be available next week for qualifying U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Defense Industrial Base customers.

Solving the “personal device dilemma”

Some customers need personnel to have the ability to communicate securely on-the-go and still be compliant with records retention policies, but face a dilemma: personal communication devices alone don’t fulfill these requirements. AWS WickrGov is built to meet both security and compliance requirements once installed on an employee’s personal device, giving customers another secure, compliant communication solution for employees, beyond requiring them to carry a government-issued device.

AWS WickrGov functions seamlessly across both government-issued and personal devices (mobile and desktop), with easy onboarding and an intuitive interface that makes it accessible to the entire workforce. The solution supports automatic records retention, allowing government organizations to comply with applicable policies. Additionally, AWS WickrGov meets high federal security standards, including Department of Defense Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide Impact Level 5 (DoD CC SRG IL5) and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) High certification.

Mission ready with rapid deployment

Customers can deploy AWS WickrGov for secure communication and collaboration enterprise-wide in minutes with AWS GovCloud. The AWS WickrGov app allows personnel to communicate securely from a variety of devices, whether in the office, in the field, or at home. Government personnel using AWS WickrGov can communicate securely with their colleagues, users outside of their organization, and with mission partners on commercial AWS Wickr (as permitted by their organization). AWS WickrGov enables secure cross-agency collaboration with built-in federation that seamlessly connects AWS Wickr (commercial), AWS WickrGov, and AWS Wickr Enterprise users at the tactical edge.

• Generative AI (GenAI) bots for leveraging AI to accelerate decision making powered by large-language models
• Cross-domain messaging for low-to-high and high-to-low communications
