Amazon Web Services (AWS) today announced the launch of AWS Marketplace in the AWS Secret Region, an expansion of the AWS Marketplace for the US Intelligence Community (ICMP) program. With this announcement, intelligence community customers now have access to 30 ISVs and 170 products in the AWS Secret Region, an air-gapped cloud accredited to support workloads up to the Secret US security classification level.

Spending on healthcare per person in the Asia Pacific region is now 80 percent higher than it was in 2009. Citing a recent report commissioned by the AWS Institute, this blog post identifies potential benefits, such as cost savings of USD 21.6 billion if all nine countries studied in the report transition their hospital IT to the cloud.

Technologies such as digital twins, artificial intelligence (AI), edge and cloud computing, and open data can help islands ameliorate these challenges.

AWS India announced that it has received cloud service provider (CSP) empanelment from India’s Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology (MeitY) for cloud services provided using the AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region.

Earlier this year, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), hosted the fourth edition of the European Big Data Hackathon on AWS. During this year’s event, participants were tasked with developing data analytics tools to build an early warning system using data from credit card transactions to alert of sudden changes in the economy relevant for EU policymakers.
