Review of Flosum as a meta data and data migration application
What do you like best about the product?
Flosum allows you to identify changes in a Salesforce by the individual, component type, component name and the results can be filtered by time range from all time to changes made within the last few hours.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some objects that cannot be migrated with Flosum, but most of those limitations are not due to the limitations of Flosum.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are migrating changes from lower-level environments to other non-production environments to support testing. The changes are then bundled into releases to prepare for the production go-live. The bundles are deployed to the UAT and Training environments to practice the deployment to production during the go-live. We are also migrating data used to configure the application that is not deemed as meta-data. Flosum handles all of the relationships between objects so there is no complex activities required to move the data and to keep the data in synch across the environments.

Drastically shortens the release pipeline and adds integrity to the process
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to implement Gitflow in Salesforce. This greatly shortens our onboarding time for new developers and puts our customers with a traditional mindset at ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
Profile handling could be improved, although I'm not sure if that's a Salesforce restriction or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Flosum allows us to simulate production deployments of complex baselines across a range of sandboxes. That ability cuts our error rate by over 40% for first-run defects.
Flosum helped us meet our Audit requirements and improved out processes.
What do you like best about the product?
Increased velocity and understanding of impacts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest complaint I get is it can be slow. There are some best practices to reduce this that we had to work with support on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Source code repo
Deployments
Rollback
Syncing environments.

Flosum has turned salesforce deployments into easy clicks of a button, not more building change sets
What do you like best about the product?
Branching and Code Analysis are very helpful for version control.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are false negatives on deployment succeeding when using snapshots only.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Version Control issues across sandboxes and in production during deployments. Our Development Velocity would be half of what it is without Flosum.
Flosum Vs Change Sets - WWP
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to identify errors and to easily remove a component so that it doesn't continue to cause issues. It is also great to have a repository. When they identify a conflict between multiple branches, it makes it wasy for my team to make adjustments before deploying.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a document that actually provided the different examples for each component. For example, I didn't know that the Lightning Record Page was considered a Flexipage component. Basically, it would be nice to know what each component type was used for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Flosum provides the ability to add Lightning Record pages as a component. This was always a hurdle of ours since we had more than 50 record pages we needed to update in both sandbox and prod. Visibility of everyone's Branches (change sets)
Game-changer for any Salesforce team
What do you like best about the product?
Native Salesforce UI makes learning and adopting Flosum very easy. Powerful change management and DevOps functionality are second to none.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly there isn't a list of things I dislike, even after using Flosum for 5+ years I can't think of anything about this product I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A rock-solid Agile LIfecycle Management solution that everyone on our team (admins, BAs, developers) can use quickly and effectively to manage version control, access control (no more phantom changeset deployments to restricted testing sandboxes or Prod!), continuous integration, impact analysis prior to deployment, full rollback control, and release management between all our orgs. We have seen a MASSIVE decrease in bugs and lifecycle velocity as a result. What takes 6+ hrs/week with Git now happens in minutes or happens automatically for us. If you're still using Bitbucket / Git / Pipelines to manage your Salesforce environments, you are throwing away money, get a trial of Flosum going ASAP.
Salesfrorce DevOps Tools Aren't Always Flawless
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Flosum built in Salesforce. The interface is familiar. I think this helps with the learning curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
The good and the bad is that Flosum runs from a different Org. You don't need to install anything in your Org to get up and running. However, snapshots are required to keep the Flosum org up to date with your Salesforce Org. Other packages evaluated have similar challenges keeping development changes synched to the DevOps platform. It's kind of a necessary and time consuming evil. There are some automated actions to help improve this challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a large team of declaritive developers. Their work along with contracted workers and in house Apex development gets tricky keeping alignment. Flosum help with merging work streams. Use of the tool has decreased our deployment cycles. We deployed bi-weekly prior to Flosum. We continue with this cadence but with less time and effort but higher accuracy.
One of the challenges of any DevOps tool is the limitations posed by Salesforce at the API level. Our hope was to never touch production as part of a deployment. Touching production at times is still necessary because of Salesforce limitations.

Smooth integration
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to deploy Field-Level Security by including profiles, and to use 1 Branch to deploy to countless orgs (no more rebuilding change sets in every lower org).
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't map external ID with Dataplier. When migrating data from one org to another, I can't select how to map Field A to Field B, the schema has to be exactly the same between orgs. Wish the data migrator had a tool to map fields, like Salesforce Dataloader can do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster deployments, more reliable (fewer human touches, so less likely to make mistakes), and easy to contain all deployments in one org (this helps auditing and troubleshooting tremendously). We save time with deployments, so we can spend more resources on development.
Very much user friendly

The Best Release Management Tool With Excellent Customer Support
What do you like best about the product?
Flosum is backed up by an amazing team that is constantly striving to improve the solution. They listen to your feedback and try to implement new features that support you. The native version control works seamlessly and does not require any third-party applications. You can customize the software to suit your needs and make deployments easy to manage. The most amazing feature is the code merging/conflict resolution feature that allows you to seamlessly fix changes natively without having to go back into the code. It's a fantastic tool for any organization and I believe that Flosum will do amazing! Also, they have outstanding customer support with weekly/monthly calls to keep you in check & help you streamline your release process! I highly recommend Flosum.
What do you dislike about the product?
Visual studio integration can be improved. I have noticed with some of the developers working on visual studio have had problems such as not being able to perform impact analysis when components have been pushed to a branch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The merging/conflict detection capability has helped tremendously in order prevent code/work from being overwritten. A new feature that I have recently started to implement is the pull request functionality that has further added an extra layer of security to prevent data from being lost. The user has the ability to comment & review code before it has been pushed.
We all wished we had more time right? Well not to worry, the pipeline functionality has given me that freedom! I am able to create logic that allows my deployments to run seamlessly. On top of that, I am able to schedule the deployments that allow me to manage my time effectively.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
You do not want to miss out! Your deployments will be seamless and you never have to worry about your data being exposed. It is completely secure.
