IBM helped with some channel wait issues as well as reporting solutions.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to update/upgrade and maintain and support response.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is hard to get someone on the phone just to ask a simple question/answer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Buisiness continuity.

MQ - Reliable Messaging platform
What do you like best about the product?
We are a messaging service provider where major insurance and banking companies use our service to distribute their documents. Many such companies have been sending their messges via their IBM MQ server to our MQ server for delivery. We were able to implement MQ solution very easily and the service has been working very reliably for more than 10 years
What do you dislike about the product?
Downside of using IBM MQ is it is a legacy product and limited expertize in the user community
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many large financial and insurance companies require MQ interface for them to send and receive their messages. By implementing MQ solution, we were able to deliver messages from these customers
Messaging solution for Queue
What do you like best about the product?
Easy of usage and implementation scenarios.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is a technology which needs to be more precise with providing training material for users. The only training offered are either from official IBM learning websites or from redbooks. There are no free resources other than redbooks. Even the redbooks are not structured to inlcude examples explaining every possible implementation scenarios and they also lack graphical images which are much more easier than reading lengthy texts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are primarliy using MQ as the backbone of Infosphere Q-replication, we do not need to understand the underlying details of MQ but just use it as a user.

Help us with we sphere applications and integrations with other platforms

It must have embedd monitor tool for alerts

Some long transaction with was application.. We are using MQ to work in back ground to have short transaction
IBM MQ is a very powerful tool for asyncronous messages exchange across different platforms

The reliability, the possibility to recover from failures, the powerful queue-sharing feature for High Availability
What do you dislike about the product?
The API differences between a queue-sharing and a non queue-sharing environment (commands and Return Codes). This leads to the need to change the applications when deciding to move to a High Availability Queue Sharing configuration
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The need to avoid syncronicity in the messages exchange when not really needed, in order to give more priority to the real time data communications

What do you like best about the product?
Well known and widely extended in so many companies

Difficult to implement improvements over MQ solution. It's not aligned with modern solutions and hard to scale

Solves some communication requirements like decoupled systems and broadcast messages
Secure and reliable queue management platform.

Easy queue management, the platform practically works by itself after correct configuration. Good message browser features, that we don't find in the same way in competitors

Some resources we don't use just because we don't have a business need. I have not identified any need for changes so far. Improvement in ease of use is always very welcome, but I don't see any problems

IBM MQ helped us handle the exchange of messages with partners and we are very satisfied with its efficiency, allowing us to exchange messages within the established limits.

The options to address some security issues are very useful on some business scenario!

The installation process is no simple, so you need to understand the requirements to achieve the performance and results!

It worked as decoupling mechanism of processing layers. Possibiliting differents business processing designs to achieve the reliability and the performance required by business

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, multiplatform (includes zOS), resilience, security, scalability

Some features in MQ for zOS could be implemented in distributed platform (eg. shared queues)

Integration between plaforms, Scalability, data confidence, security, quick learning for developers.
System very good for message exchange

Stability, product confidence, and documentation.

The support is slow and the links for product downloads are quite difficult to find.
