    Information Technology and Services

Market leader in Middleware Technology

What do you like best about the product?
IBM MQ is a proprietary software from IBM. We have purchased the Enterprise edition in which you can create as many new queue managers and connections you want. The best part about it is that is the safest option for a message delivery system. It offers you non- repudiation, integrity of the message, checksum and all this is happening at wire speed for literally millions of transactions each day. The software has a bit of learning curve but once you fully understand the functionality, you realise how powerful, stable and fast it is compared to any other competitive products. IBM MQ is the best software available in the market for setting up a new PUB-SUB model or a full & partial repositories clustering model or even a one to one connection queue manager model. I have never seen better resource management that IBM MQ does in the clustering.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, no complaints from the software as such. But, IBM support team takes a lot of time to respond if you raise a problem ticket to them. We have to open a SEV 1 call bridge to get them on call and that support is very expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been working on IBM MQ for more than 5 years now. We have delivered so many projects where the new platform was IBM MQ and they have been going on for ages without any issues, just regular health checks on queue managers and channel connections between them. It integrates so smoothly with IBM DataPower and IBM Message Broker which makes the transportation, orchestration and rendering of the messages so easy to implement.

MQ - Robust Messaging

  • February 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MQ's robust and solid presence for over 25 years has shown over the years. I am fortunate to have been involved with using this product for the last 12 years. We have always had support for everything we need from troubleshooting to implementation and usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see an authorization based web console provided with MQ that can span over a large enterprise without any performance issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use MQ for messaging between stores, DCs and our Home Office. Its ease of implementation and maintenance has been very beneficial in our environment.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the integration with Event Streams [Apache Kafka] and the ability to perform asynchronous messages across different technological platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike some of the usage based licensing models for this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asynchronous messaging, event streaming, and legacy
Recommendations to others considering the product:
MQ seems to be headed in the right direction, no complaints other than some of the licensing models seem strangely designed.

MQ for event logging

  • February 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The persistence, e.g. the ability to simply add to a queue, which can then be consumed once the back end system is ready for consumption
What do you dislike about the product?
The setup time from both develop and ops perspective. The learning curve is also huge when it comes to configuration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Persistent event logging

MQ as an Heterogeneous Enterprise Integration Asset

  • February 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility, feature set, and widespread use of the product in the industry has allowed it to be a defacto standard in this technology.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maintaining technical relevance as an administrator is becoming difficult with the amalgamated peripheral technologies being added to the base product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multi-agency / Military service interoperability and integration between messaging partners who do not have a singe hierarchical management structure.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
MQ is not freeware, but as a result, it is well supported, well designed, technically superior to most competing products. It requires considerable administrative attention, but the benefits outweigh the complexity requirements.

Message Reliability

  • February 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MQ is really reliable and secure. We use both MQ and IIB to transfer and transform the complicate messages. Easy to coding and easy to deploy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to upgrade the version; and the disaster recover environment is hard to setup
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asynchronius Integration
