Algolia is easy to integrate, it has also great documentation and & support service.
What do you like best about the product?
It's extremely easy to integrate. It took under 1 BD to integrate Algolia for the NGO SaaS that I'm managing. The fuzzy search is completely out of the box, no configuration is needed at all. Before I integrate Algolia I was able to easily import test data and test the actual implementation with demo that Algolia provided. This took under 10 mins.
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides until now. I'm happy with the service as it is. There seems to be some out of sync communication with representative contacting me over email and phone, but this is nothing irritating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping the dummy search engine that was bild with exact match in mobile apps. Alternative option was to use solr, but it needed extra ram and wasn't feasible to integrate. Algolia is now able to feed the apps with results that might have typo in them. This is also saving our customer service unnecessary tickets.

Fastest solution to market for the easiest to use elasticsearch as a service.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy integration as well as extensive documentation around integrating with Algolia in the code. UX for business users to update/manage search as well was a huge boon.
What do you dislike about the product?
The react library left a lot to be wanted. Recent improvements by algolia have helped improve the integration with our frontend. Recent UX/UI changes have made it harder to navigate around the site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Algolia is solving the problem of maintaining and paying for an internal instance of elastic search while also providing cutting edge extensions to the search they provide.
Powerful search solution
What do you like best about the product?
Great support for open-source libraries, powerful configuration options, awesome reporting insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some issues when integrating InstantSearch with the Next.js router
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast and accurate search of thousands of documents. Insights into how our user's are engaging with search.
Oportunidad de mejora
What do you like best about the product?
Su concepto de creación (La posibilidad de utilizar servidores más preparados para las consultas)
What do you dislike about the product?
La gran cantidad de codigo que te "enchufan" (¡3 archivos JS!) + La falta de un formulario PROPIO + La falta de un shortcode para insertar dicho formulario PROPIO en donde uno quiera.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Por ahora ¡NINGUNO!
An amazing experience
What do you like best about the product?
Algolia is a powerful tool and yet more and more easy to use. It gives you a fantastic sense of freedom. The new Instant search with hooks lets you design your search UX just the way you want.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I really dislike. Algolia's dashboard design and graphical charter could be simplified and modernized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to set up a performant search solution in any react app.
Difficult to use, buggy and unreliable
What do you like best about the product?
Very little. The platform does have a lot of functionalities but you need to be an expert to us and have a dev background or find an implementation partner
What do you dislike about the product?
Been screwing around with trying to implement this for several months. Supposed to be a less complicated and non-developer friendly alternative to elastic search. It's far from it. Our search is now riddled with bugs and our collection pages have clusters of similar products on them with no rhyme or reason. Waste of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
E-commerce search, similar product recommendations, collection pages and filters
Good search out of the box, but inexistent customer support
What do you like best about the product?
Algolia search is easy to implement and manage provided that you don't try to do something complex and do not need to involve customer service. The search results, on a default setting, are very well presented and indexed efficiently without cumbersome setup time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inexistent customer support. I got a good amount of seemingly automated informative and follow-up emails on signup which should imply there is great care and interest in their customers.
My experience however proved that, once I needed help and engaged the customer service, I got completely ignored.
My reminders and requests for follow-up and feedback got ignored as well.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Algolia was the only search plugin I could easily integrate into Docusaurus with a good amount of features out of the box. The other solutions I have tried either didn't work or were more complex to maintain and setup, and time is scarce.
Do yourself a favour and go with Typesense instead
What do you like best about the product?
The API was fast, and the admin panel was easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is a factor of 10-20x more than Typesnese. Despite the much bigger price, customer service is essentially non-existent. When you have a problem with billing and you get cut off, you are entirely on your own. While the AI/Machine Learning element might seem interesting ours just ended up with a completely unintuitive search where you would type in something expecting a certain result but instead see prioritised, something that was completely irrelevant. The downfall of the AI system is they make it easy to integrate, and you think "great, I'll be leveraging AI", but the reality is a bad experience for your users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Search
Algolia for every project
What do you like best about the product?
several things, first: quick and easy integration, powerful search engine, fast results on clients, improve on user experience
What do you dislike about the product?
The complexity to make the search results to be shown in special cases
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improve the user experience allowing to search on the apps
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Test first
I feel like it might get expensive eventually, but totally worth it
What do you like best about the product?
Great API, easy to use and figure out. We're an e-commerce site and it did a great job capturing all of our info and making it searchable. I had ideas to build the same thing from scratch, but glad we chose algolia.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation -- especially for Vue JS front-end stuff, is kind of all over the place and a bit disorganized. So it's a little challenging to have junior engineers figure out what's going on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Site-wide search is how we use it, and it's solving that problem for us in a big way. The shopify integration is OK -- not perfect, and documentation for a custom shopify is a bit lacking. For example, can't seem to find documentation on how to get algolia to take over our collections pages.
