Implemented S4 fashion solution for retail
What do you like best about the product?
Synchronized Business partner solution, improved article master MRP views. The Synced solution for business partner makes its a central solution for the procurement and sales team in the case of retail business processes. This gives additional access to information and fluidity in the business. There is less department silos due to this feature. Especially given that it is highly used in retail. The MRP views inside the article master, which is now changed to a material master again, provides a more clearly categorized information view.
What do you dislike about the product?
MRP Locking issue due to the way it runs in the backend. The Logic that mrp live uses in the s4 hana system causes some materials to be locked which was not the case in the legacy SAP AFS product. This causes some inconveniences. This gives a prominent issue when a company as big as South Asias largest apparel manufacturer needs to prevent locking of materials.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Listing and assortment for retail business process. Harmonizes retail and whole sale business process.
Allocation based business steps have been solved with ease compared to manual STO decisions.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
First work to organize or re-structure your business process with a digital core and centralization perspective. And then look into how S4 can benefit you. Without this approach you are likely to make little use of the innovations available in the product. If you are a business looking to work on omnichannel, this should be your primary solution.

Strenghts from SAP S/4 HANA
What do you like best about the product?
New HANA database, speed, cloud solution, IOT, Fiori, UX and UI.
Project implementation cycle reduce a lot with the Best Practices implementation and prechecks of requirements.
Better tools for transfer data and integration with several other solutions as Ariba, Fieldglass, Sucessfactor, Opentext and many others.

What do you dislike about the product?
Fiori is not total integrated with best practices. Cannot upload a Favorite list directly, need to do it app by app.
SAP S/4 HANA is an expensive solution and there are too many updates (4 times year for cloud, 1 time year on premisse).

Dashboard view of analytics Apps have lots of benefits and provide a general overview in just one screen.

In s/4 HANA simplification done by SAP is just an amazing. Many flaws in ECC has been addressed. System has become more efficient.

S/4 HANA is expensive so smaller industries still want to continue on ECC

hardware compatabiity because sap s/4 hana runs on SAP or SUSE Linux certified hardware which is a costly investment.
