  • November 09, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that retool is easy to use to create whatever data capture tool you may need. Once its created the forms populate quick easily into a data table that is visible for all users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the Ui is not as friendly, but that is something that can be worked on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its solving us from using a data sheet to capture bonus for the end of the month, its also saving us from having to use just another google spread sheet.

What do you like best about the product?
It's straightforward, and I can instantly pull up a customer's device identification! I like that it doesn't consume much RAM and provides several features to adjust user permissions for every customer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far! It's convenient and super fun to use!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Retool daily to pull up and track our customers' device data. It provides clear insights on workouts and the ability to modify user permissions. Retool makes those daily tasks very simple!

What do you like best about the product?
Simple and intuitive to use, anyone can build an app within Retool with no coding required!
What do you dislike about the product?
Can get quite slow and laggy depending on what features you're using
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to save thousands of dollars by using Retool to help us build vs. buying a 3rd party software for each indivudla issue

A little intimidating at first but impressed with development speed

What do you like best about the product?
Was able to create an admin interface very fast. Developer friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Didn't find a clear documentation on how to achieve certain things (filtering some data before sending it to server, the possibility to use lodash in js expressions) - resorted to google search to find that out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Build internal company tools without code.

What do you like best about the product?
We had a react web-app, served from an express-js server, pulling from a mongoDB (in the cloud). With ReTool, in less than two hours I rebuilt the core functionality of the web-app, allowing us to bin off the old one and the old server. I added features that have been on my "to-do" list for ages but have not had dev time for. It's a winner. I've already got my next 5 ReTool app ideas lined up!
What do you dislike about the product?
It's got limits on the number of users that can view/interact with your web-app, which for our use case means it's not well suited (we serve many low-value customers rather than a few high-value ones). But, as an internal tool for company use, it's great.

Oh, and if you need it to be super pretty, I don't think it's for you. I'm sure it could probably be done, but its focus seems to be on utility first (which suits me fine).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) stopping paying to manage infra that I don't need or want.

Using ReTool has allowed us to replace an internal tool for managing user-access to our mobile-app. The big 'win' here is that on-going dev-time is now zero for this tool. ReTool handle it's upkeep. We built it, but don't have to worry about keeping the server up, or managing library updates, or other such things. My only future dev spend will be to add more features - which is exactly where I want my spend to be.

2) getting to *information* quicker

We have weekly KPIs that are drawn from multiple data sources (analytics, stripe, our mongoDB). Previously we had to spend time in each to fetch the data we needed for those KPIs. ReTool does the manual fetching for me now, so I can spend more time responding to those KPIs

Developing internal tools has never been easier

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The drag and drop UI components, easy to setup data connections, customizability just to name a few
What do you dislike about the product?
No real downsides. The product is excellent. We have not yet tested several aspects of the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Developing internal tools is a painful process. Retool has made this so much easier. We have increased the productivity of our ops and engineering team significantly.

What do you like best about the product?
The way data is organised in retool is great.. multiple queries, customisable queries etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its slow sometimes. I am not sure its due to internal or external dependency
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its a order management tool for us.. all backend activities are done here.

Best tool for getting an app out quickly

  • September 07, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I wrote my API endpoints and I was able to quickly integrate with them and get a functional UI. This reduced development time by a lot and as a backend developer it made sure I could give something that was functional very quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation wasn't that great. Some examples in docs of how the raw javascript interacted with retool components would have been nice. The GCP integration is buggy, but I believe this is a known issue since there was a bug ticket.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps a developer get a product over the line without knowing much about front-end things and styling. I was about to complete my entire app in 3 days along with the tweaked javascripts.
