FusionAuth is secure, smart, and surprisingly simple to use

  • June 10, 2025
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I love most about FusionAuth is how it brings together all the tools and platforms I need under one secure roof and as a result I no longer waste time hunting down login links or juggling a dozen passwords and everything I need is in one place. It’s easy to use, integrates seamlessly with other systems, and the browser extension makes starting my day effortless. I especially appreciate the ability to customize access depending on roles within the organization and something other tools like Okta and OneLogin struggled to handle as cleanly.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I wish FusionAuth handled better is session duration and I’d love the option to stay logged in for a defined number of days without being forced to reauthenticate so often. Occasionally, if a deployment isn’t planned well, it can feel overwhelming for new users to get the hang of. I’ve also noticed some limitations with integrating tools like Jira and Git, which competitors like Okta seem to support more readily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using FusionAuth, my daily routine started with manually logging into more than 10 applications, often spending 10–15 minutes just getting set up. Now, I log in once, and FusionAuth handles the rest—saving me time and mental bandwidth every single day. It’s also solved the major headache of password management; I only need to remember one, and with MFA options like SMS or app authentication, I feel secure.

FusionAuth is secure and has hassle free authentication and is also very flexible

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about FusionAuth is how incredibly easy it is to integrate into our applications, especially when working under tight deadlines. Its adaptability with social logins changes everything. I have used it for minimal setup single sign-on and two factor authentication. The Universal Login function also made our sign-in process flawless on several platforms. It’s one of the few tools I’ve worked with that feels like it was built with developers in mind.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only real drawback I’ve noticed is the pricing as your usage scales — it can become a concern for startups or smaller teams. While support is generally helpful, having more instant, real-time assistance for critical production issues would be great. FusionAuth occasionally lacks the brand-based confidence found inAuth0 or Okta, which might concern some stakeholders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
FusionAuth saved weeks of laborious effort for our SaaS platform serving numerous tenants, which needed a safe authentication system. We had everything functioning in a few days instead of creating login flows and user management from nothing. It has drastically cut development time but still let us live in a trustworthy and safe environment. Unlike some other options like AWS Cognito, which felt overly complex and clunky, FusionAuth felt intuitive, developer-focused, and ready to scale with us.

Fusionauth has helped us implement security flows with great ease

  • June 04, 2025
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lots of features especially handling configuring things based on applications, entities and tenants
What do you dislike about the product?
Custom themes. To leverage existing auth flows without self hosting needs customizing themes in pseudo JavaScript scripts which are not only difficult to achieve but complex to manage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simplifying configuring security controls and enforcing them. Provides great deal of control. Advanced threat detection is quite handy as well.

Good product, better company

What do you like best about the product?
FusionAuth positions itself as a highly flexible and developer-centric identity and access management (IAM) solution. It offers a compelling alternative to more established players, especially for teams that prioritize data ownership, customization, and a transparent pricing model for advanced features. While it might not have the out-of-the-box UI polish of some competitors, its raw power and self-hosting capabilities make it a strong contender for a wide range of applications, from startups to enterprises.
What do you dislike about the product?
Admin UI/UX: While functional, the admin UI can feel a bit dated and less intuitive compared to the slick dashboards of Auth0 or Clerk. Finding certain settings or configuring advanced workflows can sometimes require a bit of digging through documentation.

Theming Customization Complexity: While powerful, fully customizing the look and feel of the hosted login pages to perfectly match your brand can be more involved than with solutions that offer more WYSIWYG or component-based theming.

Fewer "Out-of-the-Box" Pre-built UI Components: Unlike Clerk, which excels here, FusionAuth provides the backend and APIs, but you'll be building more of the frontend integration yourself (or using their base themes which might need more tweaking).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
FusionAuth is excellent for solving complex identity challenges where off-the-shelf SaaS solutions might be too restrictive or expensive.

Centralized Authentication for Multiple Applications: It handles SSO across diverse applications (web, mobile, legacy) effectively.

Meeting Strict Data Sovereignty/Compliance: Self-hosting allows us to keep all user data within our own infrastructure, satisfying regulatory requirements.

Custom User Journeys: The ability to use Lambdas and webhooks, plus detailed API control, allows for highly customized registration, login, and MFA flows tailored to specific business needs.

Avoiding Vendor Lock-in & Unpredictable Costs: The self-hosting option and clearer pricing tiers for features (rather than purely MAU-based for core functionality) provide more control and predictability.

Integrating with a Diverse Tech Stack: Its language-agnostic nature and robust APIs make it easier to integrate with various backend and frontend technologies.

What do you like best about the product?
It provided a singular method of authentication across our various platforms with the ability to migrate authentication details.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had to navigate conflicts where IDs were shared across multiple platforms. This process was not easy and had to be manually solved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple platforms with a unified authentication system.

What do you like best about the product?
The tool is very robust and scalable. It has a bunch of features which has been very helpful for the company
What do you dislike about the product?
Data restoration is up to a certain point only. It would be great to have a feature of reinstating hard deleted data. Reaching out to Fusion auth every time for data restore sounds cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fusion Auth has completely replaced siteminder for us and it has been working pretty smoothly since the migration. The integration with LDAP has been very easy and no issues were encountered during the migration.

Very good product

  • May 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Versatility: FusionAuth supports a wide range of identity standards and protocols
Developer-Friendly
What do you dislike about the product?
• Database Portability: We’d like easier migration between MySQL and PostgreSQL—ideally built-in tooling or export/import processes to switch backends without major rework.
• Cloud-Native Monitoring: Integration with modern observability stacks (like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry) would be a big plus for monitoring health and performance in production environments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Make our product single identity provider system

Good documentation. Decent, responsive support with multiple channels. Large and exanding featureset. Straightworward integration with any platform supporting OIDC/SAML.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some implementation quirks, though generally easy to deal with using support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unified auth for our platforms and systems for both internal users and customers means that we don't need to roll our own, or manage in multiple places.

Fusionauth is budget friendly option for providing SSO to your products

  • May 30, 2025
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Easier integration with third parties (google, social logins etc)
- Newer login options (webauthen)
- No code solution for login/signup and emails
- Terraform provider to maintain configuration across different env (dev, staging, prod)
What do you dislike about the product?
- Optional state from frontend doesn't get persisted between MFA
- State doesn't go through transactional webhooks
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're providing SSO to our users for around 4 products. Its really easy to integrate across different products, e.g next-auth supports fusionauth out of the box.
