Peace of mind and hundreds of hours saved
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta starts providing peace of mind minutes after the initial setup is completed. I can sleep properly knowing that there are no red flag related with configuration, security, or compliance.
I trust Vanta to notify me when a test is not passing anymore. It might go from a missconfiguration of an employee's computer to a security vulnerability. I can focus on the rest of my work and just go back when a next step is needed.

What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing that we dislike about the platform. We did had a few issues connecting the Vanta agent in some cases, but the support was helpful and super quick.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We started using Vanta becase we wanted to get a SOC2 Type 2 certification. We knew that it will take us a lot of time to setup all the requirements and we decided to go with Vanta to save time, keep the information organized, and be notified of any organizational issue.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You are probably considering Vanta because of a SOC2/ISO certification. It's also likely that you are not an expert on the topic. If both statements are true, I can ensure you that Vanta is a good choice in terms of onboarding and help with the process (they will introduce you a few auditors you can choose from). Lastly, keep in mind that you will be using this platform for a long time if you consider going with a SOC2 Type 2 certification (in terms of monitoring time and later the certification renewal). If that's the case, check if the rest of alternatives gives you the same peace of mind with all the automated alerts that Vanta has. We are happy with them and we also know that they cover every compliance requirement, given that we already got our first certification.

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of Vanta's to-do list to complete important compliance steps is where it all started for me. From there, it was a breeze to click into the step, follow the detailed instructions, and track our progress. Contrast that with the totally scattered Excel spreadsheets and ambiguous requirements from audit firms, and Vanta comes out miles ahead of the "DIY approach". Our customer success contact was extremely helpful as well, and she added a ton of value to our experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vanta is a young company and product, and there are understandable rough spots that need some polish. However, very few of those rough spots were blockers to get my work done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOC-2 compliance and ongoing HIPAA compliance

What do you like best about the product?
They understood how a fully remote, cloud native software company like ourselves operates. No questions about phone line security or outdated anti-virus software.
Their 2 sided marketplace is a great resource as you consider other parts of your security stack like Auditing, MDM, Training, Background Checks, etc..
The customer support team is exceptional. Highly informed and give great recommendations.

What do you dislike about the product?
They are missing some future compliance programs for us e.g. HITRUST. And they are still a young company so there are minor UI issues when it comes to understanding how alerts are generated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An all-in-one place for our Security policies and compliance. The single biggest benefit has been bringing everything out of Google Drive and into Vanta. Vanta automates a majority of what we need to pass compliance audits.
Vanta makes compliance possible for small teams
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta provides a low friction path to SOC2 certification, enabling our small team to go from zero to starting our observation period in under 30 days. Our Customer Success team was always available to answer questions, offer advice, and keep us moving forward. I can't imagine going through compliance preparation and the audit without Vanta.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited integration with lesser known service providers, however, Vanta continues to improve their coverage and is responsive to feature requests.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our business never had a good answer to how we addressed compliance. Vanta has given us the tools, guidance, and partnerships to build a comprehensive compliance regime in record time.

Vanta immediately impressed us with their product and their commitment to client success. Their deep network of contacts has allowed us to find the best match for our needs on penetration testing and audit partner selection.
Great integration and automation of SOC2 controls
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta gives great value to its customers by integrating with popular tools and automating most of the SOC2 controls. By monitoring our technological stack, it clearly defines the steps that we have to take to implement the controls relevant to a SOC2 audit. It is a helpful tool to manage corporate devices, manage onboarding and monitor our risk.
The support team is responsive and our success manager has always been a great help. It shows that Vanta takes into account their customers needs.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Vanta agent has difficulty reading Linux devices and windows servers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta allowed us to start our SOC2 audit in a fraction of the time that it would have taken us with the traditional method. The platform allows us to see exactly which controls need to be implemented and to what depth. It is allowing us to monitor for vulnerabilities and monitor our inventories. We are saving time and money by knowing exactly where to put our efforts to achieve our SOC2 certification.

Cost savings and speed of execution of the SOC 2 accreditation process. Vanta is also very responsive to feedback and their staff are well trained in the product too.

Reporting is fixed and 'clunky'. Better access to data via an API would be good

Vanta makes the process of becoming compliant very easy and straight forward.
What do you like best about the product?
It is logically built up with the automatic detection of security gaps in our IT infrastructure is great.

Not all of our tools can integrate yet, so we still need to control access to some systems manually.

Vanta - SOC2 compliance made easy
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta made our first SOC2 audit as seamless of an audit process as I could ask for. The real-time monitoring of user accounts, advice on security configuration, and the out of the box policies all helped us pass the audit with flying colors. We use it to manage vendor security as well, which has allowed us to store all of our security and compliance documentation in one spot. I've been through a number of these security audits in my career, and the process with Vanta made it more seamless and straightforward for us than I could have imagined. I've already recommended Vanta to peers at other companies and will continue doing so.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to see Vanta make some improvements to their stock policies. I've spoken with their team and they've indicated this is something on their radar and they will be updating these soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are monitoring all user accounts with Vanta for onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing security. This allows us to manage our security infrastructure from one place which consolidates multiple tools/spreadsheets/processes down into one thing. It's awesome!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you talk with your SOC2 auditor to ensure they understand how to use Vanta. There is a separate login for auditors to review, which makes the whole process 100x easier, but the auditors have to understand what they need to do.

What do you like best about the product?
Do I have to pick just one thing?! In short, Vanta was able to simplify what is otherwise an extremely difficult project (especially for a company our size, about 75 people). Their employees are passionate and great to work with, from the very first call to handing off to a Customer Success Manager (CSM).
To explain in more detail, when we started the SOC II Type I Audit process we had no idea where to begin, and had previously spent 6-8 months attempting to complete things on our own, barely making any progress. As soon as we found Vanta, we immediately felt relief and confidence that we could complete the work required to pass our audit. The platform is easy to use, user-friendly, gives great insight into our high-priority risks, computers that need additional features, has a great email notification system for sending employees invites and reminders, and has very well thought out policies that allowed us to complete the work within a couple of months rather what I’m sure would have taken us more than a year. Our CSM met with us weekly to help us figure out where to start first, what to focus on each week, etc. and there is no way we could have completed this audit without them!

Vanta helps point out where our biggest security risks are, and points us in the direction to solve them, even down to the employee and device level. Vanta also helps us write and improve our security policies to continue improving our security posture. Because of Vanta, we were able to complete our SOC II Type I Audit in only a couple of months.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a platform that is easy to use, user-friendly, gives great insight into your high-priority risks, computers that need additional features, a great email notification system for sending employees invites and reminders, very well thought out policies, and to essentially take something as complex as a SOC II audit and simplify the work so it can be completed within a couple of months, all while working with an awesome CSM who helps as much as needed the entire way, Vanta is for you. I do not think we could have completed our audit without them!
