Great platform for our company needs!
What do you like best about the product?
It's helpful with ingesting different data from various sources. Helps to have all workflows centralized!
What do you dislike about the product?
There's still a learning curve if you're someone new, like myself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solved what SQL could not handle, the constant need for continuous data ingestion.

Best Data solution on Cloud
What do you like best about the product?
Unity Catalog is most exciting thing in databricks and like the dashboards and other ML flow options with Databricks. When its solving problem for both real time and batch.
What do you dislike about the product?
The overall compute and cluster takes time to come to live before performing any spark or SQL operations , so there has to be a way to improve the overall performence
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is for the most of the cases with self service and other ML flow options and there has always its asking for self service and data security with role based access
Best all-in-one data platform
What do you like best about the product?
It's a solid solution for Apache Spark and has excellent performance
What do you dislike about the product?
Clusters often take up a lot of time to start up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like it for the ease of querying data
Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
The most efficient data platform that I've used so far from an ease of use perspective. Our business users and data scientists love this platform too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is certainly a challenge when justifying the usage to our businesses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The UI is very user friendly and the favorite tool for data analytics at my firm.
More Robust than other platforms
What do you like best about the product?
I'm traditionally a SQL Data Engineer, but after getting into Databricks, I'm seeing the advantages of using both SQL and Python depending on the DE task, and with how simple Databricks optimizes what used to be a manual process for me, I would prefer to stick with this as my Lakehouse Platform of choice.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do think some platforms are a little easier to get started on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing our disparate data sources and making it easy to transform and store using the medallion architecture.
Love the Lakehouse
What do you like best about the product?
The Databricks Lakehouse platform is so easy to use and integrate with. I could never look back!
What do you dislike about the product?
This is not specific to Databricks, but actually my company's implementation of Databricks currently. We are not utilizing it to its fullest and really should be!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Databricks for me personally is helping to gather and make insights off of the retailer data that we have coming in today to better prepare our sales team
Great alternative for traditional data warehousing

Lakehouse platform can take data operations and consumption to future

A good couple of features still needs development. *but development is continuous.

Cost and complexity of traditional data warehousing.

I love how the platform unifies data engineering, data visualizing, ML workloads and governance, among many other aspects of Data and AI. The company is continuing to innovate and improve the platform and add new features.

Sometimes the documentation for new features is too scarce and hard to read. This gets fixed over time but should be addressed as soon as new features are released

The platform helps process massive amounts of data quickly and cost-efficiently. It also helps me with training and deploying machine learning models as well as governing data assets

im using on the gov cloud, so not much of the new ai services are out yet

One location for all your data needs
What do you like best about the product?
Having worked in various data platforms over the last 30 years I found DataBricks to be easy to deploy and easy to understand. Allowing for fantastic performance and usefulness.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest struggle is trying to convince old-school relational DW Architects that they should modernize before they get left behind. Eliminating the fear by explaining to them they can still use SQL.

We utilize Databricks for large-scale data analytics and data science. DataBricks ease of deployment allows for easy data ingestion from various sources and simple integration with enterprise-level analytics tools.
