Useful analytics information tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use dashboard, simple api library sdk for javascript.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation is a bit spread out and sometimes tricky to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Frontend user interaction tracking on website UI as an event analytics sending tool.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment is a very powerful platform, with core products and additional add-ons that extend that functionality. It seems well designed and engineered. We're getting more actionable customer data than ever before. Also, great tools for ensuring data hygene right at the point of entry into our stack.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any integration, there are challenges that vary depending on your entire ecosystem. We are currently only leveraging a small portion of Segment's power because of other legacy systems. So think though your stack holisitically before counting on all the things Segment CAN provide. Not Segment's fault, per se, but an important caveat.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed better visibility on customer interactions for both content development and growth marketing. Segment gives us that, and helps us ensure that new data from new sources is clean.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Think though what capabilities Segment will have in YOUR tech stack. There may be limiting factors beyond Segment.
Segment is the motor that powers the world!
What do you like best about the product?
We can track user traits and behavior on our platform instantly, and we can integrate this data across a variety of cloud-based platforms! We pair this data with information collected from our user-created content database to create a visual landscape of how users are engaging with our platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see Segment's testing tool capture more than just the last few minutes of activity --- it would be great to have a version of the tools that provides a searchable log so that we can review our metrics in more detail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Segment to view events on our platform that we cannot otherwise view from our standard platform tools. We can combine information about our customers across multiple systems and learn more about their needs.
Powerful, and necessary foundation to product data
What do you like best about the product?
The segment provides consistent service and is easy to implement with a moderate amount of planning from a team. They have productized a robust foundation for groups looking to set their teams and systems up for success.
What do you dislike about the product?
By utilizing Segment you inherently become entrenched in the product itself. Taking a step backward would be a bit of challenge after usage. Thankfully Segment has become a reliable and foundational part of our operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unified data, and establishing a framework with how we gather and classify data. We also utilize Segment to feed data to in-app messaging product Appcues and application analytics platform, Amplitude.
Solved a real problem
What do you like best about the product?
When starting a new business, its key that we do not waste precious development time on building things that have already been built before. Segments integrations make things easy and fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be quite expensive however there is a free tier which is quite generous and when you factor in development costs for manual integration the pricing becomes more competitive.

Fast integration with minimal code.

Segment is great and super cool
What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can add other integrations with no code. I also like that the frontend integration with google analytics was a seamless swap.
What do you dislike about the product?
It felt super easy to accidentally go over our MTU's. But once we figured out why we were going over our MTU's, it wasn't that bad.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our data gets funneled through Segment. Frontend events, backend events, even other data that we want to funnel into our data lake for analytics.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment data is verifiable against dispersed system data - it's generally in agreement with what I expect from the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The data required some onboarding to be able to understand how to use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've not experienced any significant problems with Segment directly.
Used segment for UI usage tracking
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the UI was easy to use. Also we did have an script to push data from UI.
